| The Skipper's Kippers |
 |
Lurking behind the Stokehold
one cold morn
A group of recidivistic reprobate rascals
Waylaid The Skipper's Tiger
Lifted the silver tureen lid aloft
Saw kippers steaming in the dish
Removed the fish, held them by their tails
And ritually micturated thereupon.
Replacing them within their silver dish
They sent the Houseboy scurrying on his way
Lurked more, smoked cigarettes, spat bravely,
Laughed at the daring of their dastardly plot
Talked through events
around the breakfast table.
The Houseboy came back soon
they stopped him then
Examined all the leavings, all the bones
The telling evidence of eaten fish. |
