I have
a wife who can cook like a queen
Eclectic selectrix from all cuisine
She tallies the mysteries of all herbs
“
Rosemary for Remembrance” —that disturbs
Some other rhymes from childhood memory
Carved out in oak, and smoked in hickory.
She is my lady who rules over food:
Quiet and graceful, she’ll never intrude,
But float gently by as on gossamer wing
The gentle and lovely little old thing. . .
That’s the Keeper of Secrets and my love
I swear it by everything that’s above!
Concluding her praise with this here toast —
Cook, my darling: boil, steam, baste and roast.
